Off Track - a short film by Nic Brookland

"Off Track" is a story about a young boy named James who has lost both his parents. He now lives in the bush beside the railway line and each day wanders down to watch the workers deal with the trains. He walks the lines day after day, eventually becoming a nuisance to the workers. One day he steals an item from them that leads to his downfall, sparking an investigation into how James came to be there and how society failed him.

I play the role of Craig Hillburn, one of the rail workers who chases James through the forest and works in the yard. To date my most physical role and it had me sprinting down train-tracks and leaping up grass banks in pursuit of the lead character.
